Kings Beach is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and has a population just over 4,000. Kings Beach is named after a poker player named Joe King. Mr. King won the town in a card game playing against George Whittell Jr., an eccentric, playboy millionaire who once owned more than 40,000 acres in Lake Tahoe.
Kings Beach is close to four major ski resorts Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar and Diamond Peak. All are within a few minutes of Kings Beach and free shuttle service can be found from the town.
A popular lakeside destination Kings Beach has a little bit of everything. A close drive to gambling, entertainment, skiing, boating, hiking it's no wonder homes and cabins in this area are in demand.
