

Only 42 miles west of Reno and 95 miles east of Sacramento on Highway 89 you can find Squaw Valley, USA. This town sits at the 6,200 foot elevation and has an average snowfall of over 450 inches.
Squaw Valley also know as Olympic Valley, California received it's name from hosting the 1960 winter olympics where 665 athletes from 30 nations participated. The USA won a total of ten medals in this competition. After being award the bid to host the olympics, Alexander Cushing the controlling partner of the Squaw Valley Ski Corp only had five years to create roads, parking lots, ski lifts, jumping hill, hotels, restaurants and an ice arena.
Mr. Cushing's development for the 1960 Olympics paved it's way afterwards for condos, houses, timeshares and cabin all in the Squaw Valley area. Today this area of Lake Tahoe is a prefect place for a vacation home or for those who enjoy the mountain life. Since the 1960 Olympics more development has happened in and around the Olympic Valley area making this a great place o live.
